Nanotube-Enhanced Zinc-Rich Coatings Target Harsh Corrosion Environments

PV PAINT has expanded its PERAPHENE protective-coatings portfolio with zinc-rich products incorporating OCSiAl’s TUBALL single wall carbon nanotubes, including a nanotube-enhanced zinc-rich epoxy coating.
The coatings are designed for assets operating in highly corrosive environments, including offshore oil and gas platforms, refineries, petrochemical plants, storage tanks and marine infrastructure. According to the companies, independent corrosion and adhesion testing demonstrated corrosion resistance, adhesion and crack resistance.
PV PAINT says the nanotube technology may also provide flexibility to reduce coating thickness or zinc content while maintaining long-term corrosion resistance. Commercialization is scheduled for Q3 2026.
