Chase Corporation Acquires Hylomar

Chase Corporation has acquired Hylomar Holdings Ltd., a Wigan, England-based manufacturer of high-performance sealants and adhesives. Financial terms were not announced.
Hylomar has more than 60 years of experience developing sealing and adhesive materials for industrial, transportation, aerospace, power-generation and electronics applications. Its portfolio includes non-setting gasketing and jointing compounds, silicone sealants, anaerobic adhesives, structural adhesives and sealing putties.
Chase CEO Eric Conley said the acquisition expands the company’s presence in specialty sealing and adhesive materials. Chase plans to use its global scale to support Hylomar’s growth in industrial, aerospace and transportation markets and offer a broader range of protective materials to customers.
Hylomar’s products are used by original equipment manufacturers in transportation, aerospace, power generation and distribution, electronics, appliances and general engineering. The company also manufactures specialized formulations specified by aero-engine manufacturers.
Hylomar employees will join Chase’s broad-based ownership program, which provides employees with an opportunity to participate in equity ownership.
Chase develops and manufactures protective materials for high-reliability applications. Its existing portfolio includes adhesives, electronic and conformal coatings, pipeline coatings, waterproofing products, corrosion-protection materials and industrial tapes.
The acquisition is relevant to PCI readers tracking adhesives and sealants used alongside protective coatings in aerospace, transportation, electronics and other high-reliability applications.
