Huber Acquires R.J. Marshall Flame Retardant and Smoke Suppressant Assets

J.M. Huber Corporation announced the acquisition of The R.J. Marshall Company's alumina trihydrate (ATH), antimony-free flame retardant, and molybdate-based smoke suppressant assets. The acquired assets will become part of Huber Advanced Materials (HAM), a strategic business unit of Huber Engineered Materials.
The deal includes R.J. Marshall’s ATH and Marshall Additive Technologies product lines, excluding those containing antimony trioxide. These materials will be integrated into HAM’s existing portfolio to ensure continued supply and support for customers. According to the company, the acquisition also enables HAM to offer cost-effective alternatives to antimony trioxide.
“This acquisition underlines HAM’s strategic commitment to grow our halogen-free fire retardant and smoke suppressant portfolio,” said Martin Schulting, global vice president of sales and marketing at Huber Advanced Materials.
Fidel Agbor, director of global product management at Huber Advanced Materials, added, “This acquisition aligns with our strategic goals and will enable us to better serve our customers with an expanded range of high-performance materials.”
Huber Advanced Materials stated that it will provide support throughout the integration process to ensure a smooth transition for customers.
