Michelman has appointed Ron Voigt, CEO of Hyperion Materials & Technologies, to its board of directors, the company announced Aug. 27.
Voigt leads Hyperion, a global materials-science company specializing in advanced hard and super-hard materials for industrial applications. Michelman said his background in materials science, manufacturing, commercial strategy and employee engagement aligns with the company's priorities as it expands internationally.
Voigt has served as Hyperion's CEO since 2018. His previous leadership roles include president of X-Rite Pantone, commercial president of Tektronix and president of industrial automation at Kollmorgen. Earlier in his career, he held positions with Delphi Automotive Systems and General Motors.
"Ron has spent his career building global industrial businesses and helping teams turn strategy into measurable results," Michelman Executive Chairman Steve Shifman said in the announcement.
Michelman develops advanced materials for coatings, printing and packaging, fibers and composites. Its surface additives and polymeric binders are used in applications including metal and industrial coatings, paints, varnishes, inks, wood and floor care products and composites. The company has production facilities in North America, Europe and Asia.
Michelman is a significant supplier of specialty materials used in paint and coatings additives. Voigt adds materials-science, manufacturing and international business experience to the company's board as Michelman continues pursuing growth across its global markets.
