Waterborne Symposium Opens 2027 Call for Papers

The 54th Annual International Waterborne, High-Solids and Powder Coatings Symposium has opened its call for papers for the 2027 event.
Hosted by the School of Polymer Science and Engineering at The University of Southern Mississippi, the symposium will take place Feb. 7-12, 2027, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Technical presentations are scheduled for Feb. 10-12.
Organizers are inviting original research from academic researchers, government researchers and industry professionals addressing materials, processes, production, characterization, application and markets in surface coatings.
Suggested subjects include novel waterborne materials, high-solids coatings, architectural and protective coatings, renewable and bio-based technologies, corrosion and adhesion, functional coatings, UV technologies, pigments and additives, weathering and durability, wood coatings, powder coatings, artificial intelligence, self-healing materials, formulation and sustainability.
Submissions that are notably commercial in nature will not be accepted. Presentations must be original, first-time presentations and noncommercial, and selected speakers must provide an original written paper for publication in the symposium proceedings.
Abstracts are due Oct. 1, 2026. Written papers are due Dec. 1, and accepted speakers must provide presentations by Feb. 1, 2027. Presentations should be 20 to 30 minutes and must be supplied in 16:9 PowerPoint format.
