Self-Priming Mag-Drive Pumps Target Plating and Anodizing

Finish Thompson Inc. is highlighting its SP Series self-priming mag-drive pumps for transferring corrosive chemicals and dense fluids in electroplating and anodizing operations.
The self-priming design allows fluid to be pulled from sumps and can eliminate the need for bulkhead fittings in plating tanks, removing a potential leak point. The pumps can achieve 18 ft. of priming in 90 seconds and provide deep-lift capability up to 25 ft.
Above-grade installation can also reduce operator exposure to hazardous fluids. The sealless magnetic-drive design eliminates conventional mechanical seals and is designed to provide run-dry capability for additional protection during operator errors or system upsets.
According to the company, eliminating manual priming, vacuum pumps and foot valves can reduce maintenance requirements while supporting faster startup and fluid-transfer reliability.
