Paint Zero Plans North American Entry for Dry Paint Concentrate

Paint Zero announced plans to make its dry, water-mixable architectural paint concentrate available in North America.
The U.K.-based company initially plans to offer a limited range of colors selected for the U.S. market. It is evaluating partnerships with retailers, distributors, licensees and local co-producers as it develops its market-entry strategy.
Paint Zero supplies its coating as a dry powder that customers mix with tap water before application. The company says its plant-based binder replaces the synthetic acrylic and vinyl polymers commonly used in conventional architectural paints and contains no petrochemical resins or VOCs.
Shipping the coating in dry form eliminates the need to transport the water that makes up much of a conventional liquid paint. Paint Zero says the approach reduces shipment weight, packaging requirements and associated transportation emissions by more than 70%.
The company’s “Factory in a Box” model is designed to support localized production. Under the model, Paint Zero supplies its dry binder to licensed co-producers, which then add locally sourced minerals and pigments and package the finished concentrate closer to its intended market.
Paint Zero said it is seeking conversations with potential manufacturing partners, retailers and distributors as it works to establish broader North American availability. The company has not yet announced a finalized production or distribution network for the region.
