Atotech to Highlight Battery Surface Technologies in Seoul

MKS Inc.’s Atotech will highlight surface-finishing technologies for electric-vehicle battery manufacturing at Battery Korea 2026, taking place Sept. 21 in Seoul.
The company said its exhibit will focus on technologies addressing performance, reliability and design challenges across battery systems. Featured areas include surface-finishing processes for EV battery components, high-efficiency electromagnetic interference shielding and protective coatings for aluminum busbars designed to improve corrosion resistance and long-term performance.
Busbars carry high electrical loads within battery systems and require reliable connections under changing temperatures and corrosive conditions. Atotech’s portfolio for copper and aluminum busbars includes pretreatments, electroless and electrolytic metal finishes and protective processes intended to maintain electrical performance and durability.
The company also offers surface-treatment technologies for aluminum battery housings, trays, covers and other structural components. These include cleaning, etching, conversion-coating and related processes designed to provide corrosion protection while maintaining low surface resistivity.
At Battery Korea, Konstantin Thom, business development manager for DECO/POP and EV battery foils at MKS’ Atotech, will give two presentations. One will address how surface treatment can support emerging EV and battery trends, while the second will examine the use of plastics for lightweight EMI-shielding applications.
Battery Korea 2026 will be held at COEX in Seoul, South Korea. Atotech will exhibit at Booth P02.
EV batteries are creating additional opportunities for industrial finishing technologies that combine corrosion protection with electrical and mechanical performance. Atotech’s battery portfolio shows how surface-treatment processes are being adapted for aluminum components, busbars and other parts where durability and conductivity must be managed together.
