QEP Acquires Spray-Lock, Expands Aerosol Adhesives Platform

Company News
Q.E.P. Co., Inc. has acquired substantially all of the assets of Spray-Lock, Inc., a developer, manufacturer and distributor of aerosol spray adhesives for flooring and wall applications. The transaction closed Sept. 1, and financial terms were not disclosed.
QEP said the acquisition broadens its adhesives manufacturing platform by adding Spray-Lock’s patented spray-applied technology, proprietary formulations and technical expertise.
Spray-Lock’s water-based products are designed to simplify application, use less adhesive than traditional trowel-applied alternatives and provide moisture and pH tolerance, low-VOC content and time-saving installation benefits.
The acquired product line serves luxury vinyl tile and plank, sheet flooring, vinyl composition tile, carpet tile, rubber flooring, underlayment, wall coverings and fiber-reinforced plastic wall panels.
The Spray-Lock business is now part of QEP’s North American operations. QEP said it plans to work with the acquired team, customers and business partners to support continuity through the transition.
The transaction adds differentiated water-based, low-VOC spray adhesives to a major flooring-installation platform, making it relevant to PCI readers following adhesives and sealants.
