Tungsten Carbide Fusion Coating Targets Pump Rotor Wear

NETZSCH Pumps & Systems has introduced N.Durance, a tungsten carbide fusion coating designed to extend the operating life of NEMO progressing-cavity pump components.
The surface technology is intended for abrasive and corrosive service conditions. NETZSCH says fusing the coating material with the underlying metal creates a dense, homogeneous surface with low porosity.
The treatment is primarily intended for rotors but is also designed to reduce wear on interacting components, including stators, by maintaining the rotor surface under demanding operating conditions.
Applications include pumping processes involving abrasive, corrosive or otherwise difficult media where component wear can lead to maintenance and downtime.
