California Paints has named Quiet Peace its 2027 Color of the Year, selecting a deep blue intended to balance a calming appearance with greater color expression.

The ICP Group brand said the color reflects growing interest in blues across interiors, fashion and other design categories as consumers seek spaces that feel quieter while remaining personal.

Quiet Peace can be used as a primary color in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, bathrooms and home offices or as an accent in larger and transitional spaces.

California Paints developed an 11-color coordinating palette around the selection. Supporting shades include Baguette, French Pear, Uninhibited, Coffee Shop, Sassy Yellow, Desired Dawn, Nilla Vanilla, Bridesmaid, Millionaire, Calliope and Aimee.

The palette allows Quiet Peace to move between combinations using softer browns, beiges and greens and more expressive yellows and dusty pinks.

Annual architectural color selections provide coatings manufacturers and pigment suppliers with another signal of the color families being positioned for future residential demand.
