Valspar Names Its 2027 Color of the Year
Valspar, a Sherwin-Williams brand, named Cottage Door 8004-38E its 2027 Color of the Year. The company describes the shade as a reflective, midtone neutral blue that combines warm and cool undertones.
Valspar said the selection reflects growing consumer interest in interiors that feel comfortable, authentic and grounded amid what the company characterizes as increasing stimulation and highly curated design. Cottage Door is positioned as a modern neutral suited to simplified interiors, organic layering and tactile materials.
ValsparAccording to Valspar, the color is intended to provide the familiarity associated with blue while remaining versatile enough to work across a range of residential spaces and design approaches. The company pairs Cottage Door with Moon Shot 8005-2B, a warm gray, and Apricot Blush 8003-8A, a muted pink, as coordinating colors.
Cottage Door can be tinted across several Valspar interior and exterior paints, exterior stains and specialty coatings. The available products include interior wall paints, exterior paints, wood and concrete stains, cabinet and furniture enamels, and a garage-floor coating.
The color is available through Lowe’s and independent home improvement retailers in the United States.
