Benjamin Moore has named Webster Green HC-130 its Color of the Year for 2027, selecting a shade from its Historical Color Collection to anchor an eight-color palette.

The company said its 2027 forecast focuses on the continued appeal of green across residential and commercial design. Webster Green was selected for its ability to complement both traditional and contemporary interiors while providing a connection to historical color palettes.

"For 2027, our focus centered on the green color family. When we looked across the past, present and future of color trends, variations on green consistently demonstrated remarkable staying power," said Andrea Magno, vice president of brand, color and integrated marketing at Benjamin Moore.

Magno said Webster Green combines the familiarity of traditional color with a contemporary appearance that can be used across different design styles.

The complete Color Trends 2027 palette includes seven supporting colors:

  • White Down OC-131, a soft off-white
  • Nelson Blue CW-635, a pale blue
  • Shakespeare Tan 228, a golden neutral
  • Antique Copper 1169, a warm brown
  • Wild Aster 1240, a muted pink
  • Durango 2137-30, a deep neutral with olive undertones
  • Townsend Harbor Brown HC-64, a burgundy shade

Benjamin Moore said the palette draws from its library of more than 3,500 colors and is intended to offer combinations that work across different architectural styles and applications.

The company commissioned illustrator Tanu Vasu to develop artwork accompanying the 2027 forecast. The illustrations are intended to connect the selected colors with historical design influences.

Webster Green can be used in applications including cabinetry, living spaces, architectural details and exterior surfaces.

Benjamin Moore's Color of the Year program draws on research conducted by its color marketing team, including analysis of design trends, architectural influences and changing consumer preferences.

The company distributes its paints and coatings through more than 8,500 independently owned retail locations.

The 2027 selection follows a series of color forecasts from major architectural coatings manufacturers as the industry prepares for next year's residential and commercial design trends.

Benjamin Moore's annual forecast provides another indicator of color direction in architectural coatings, particularly as manufacturers develop and market color palettes for residential and commercial applications.
