Deep Rooted combines the warmth associated with orange with a more grounded, muted appearance intended for use in shared living areas, personal spaces and exterior applications.
Dutch Boy selected the color through a forecasting process incorporating design research, market information and cultural analysis. The company said Deep Rooted can be paired with soft neutrals, expressive blues and greens.
The color serves as the foundation for three palettes in Dutch Boy’s 2027 Color Trends Forecast. Essence pairs Deep Rooted with Antique White and Western Orange. Bliss combines it with Champagne Fizzle and Ribbon Blue, while Clarity adds Felted Blue and Timbered Green.
According to Lisbeth Parada, color marketing manager for Dutch Boy Paints, the selected orange was intended to provide a warm foundation for spaces using contrasting colors, layered textures and more individualized design choices.
Deep Rooted has a light reflectance value of 17 and is available exclusively through Menards stores and the retailer’s website.
The annual selection reflects evolving consumer preferences in architectural coatings, color forecasting and residential design.
