Vortex Companies Acquires Infrastructure Coatings Contractor

Vortex Companies has acquired Municipal & Contractors Sealing Products LLC, a Cincinnati-based infrastructure rehabilitation contractor specializing in water and wastewater systems.
Founded in 2000, MCSP provides rehabilitation services for pipelines, manholes, culverts, tunnels and other municipal infrastructure. Its capabilities include protective coatings, geopolymer and cementitious spray lining, chemical grout injection and manhole rehabilitation.
Vortex said the acquisition expands its geotechnical capabilities and strengthens its presence across the Midwest. MCSP will add field experience and customer relationships to Vortex’s broader infrastructure rehabilitation platform.
The deal also brings together coatings materials and application capabilities. Vortex manufactures polymeric coatings, resins, geopolymers, hybrid mortars and grouts, while its technology portfolio includes UV curing systems, sewer robotics and other equipment for trenchless infrastructure rehabilitation.
MCSP founder Bob O’Connor established the company more than 25 years ago. Vortex said MCSP’s teams have developed experience applying rehabilitation systems across municipal stormwater and sanitary sewer infrastructure in multiple states.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquisition is relevant to readers following protective coatings because it combines coating and lining materials with field application expertise for water, wastewater and other infrastructure rehabilitation.
