WorldSkills Shanghai Names Car Painting Medalists

Surventis has announced the winners of the Car Painting competition at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, where young automotive refinish professionals competed in color management, preparation, application, quality and productivity.
Libo Duan of China won the gold medal. Pawaret Wohanluek of Thailand received silver, and Oisin McKerr of the United Kingdom earned bronze. WorldSkills independently lists the same medal results for the 2026 Car Painting competition.
The four-day competition required participants to demonstrate skills including color matching, paint preparation and application, process quality and efficient material use.
Surventis supported the event through its Glasurit automotive refinish brand. Competitors from 24 countries trained using Glasurit 100 Line before the competition, along with digital learning, practical training and the company’s Refinity body-shop platform. SATA and 3M provided additional technologies and training support.
WorldSkills also recognized competitors for material and process efficiency through the Sustainable Practice Excellence Award. Pei-Jen Yu of Chinese Taipei placed first, followed by Shota Sugata of Japan and Haziq Aziq Syahmi Bin Nazri of Malaysia.
Surventis participated as a Global Industry Partner of WorldSkills International and Silver Partner of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.
The competition highlights the technical skills required in automotive refinish coatings, including color management, application consistency, process efficiency and material control.
