Mayville Engineering Acquires Georgia E-Coat and Powder Coating Facility

Mayville Engineering Co. has acquired an operating manufacturing and finishing facility in Thomson, Georgia, expanding the company's capacity for e-coating and powder coating as demand grows in data center and critical-power markets.
The 138,000-square-foot facility includes existing e-coating and powder coating lines, on-site wastewater treatment capabilities and required environmental permits. MEC said it plans to retain the site's experienced workforce and build out broader fabrication and finishing capabilities.
The transaction closed Oct. 1. MEC expects its total investment, including the acquisition, facility improvements and equipment, to reach approximately $25 million to $30 million through 2028.
Once fully developed, the location is expected to provide approximately $50 million in additional annual revenue capacity by 2028. The company said the investment supports growth in its Datacenter & Critical Power market, where its qualified opportunity pipeline exceeds $125 million.
The acquisition makes finishing capacity itself a strategic manufacturing asset. Existing e-coat and powder lines allow MEC to bring coating operations into a larger fabrication expansion tied directly to rapidly growing data-center infrastructure demand.
