Shrieve Acquires Industrial Solvent Distributor and Recycler
Shrieve Chemical Co. has acquired Research Solutions Group Inc., expanding the specialty chemical distributor's operations in the southeastern United States.
Research Solutions Group, or RSG, is headquartered in Pelham, Alabama, and distributes industrial solvents, custom solvent blends and specialty chemical products. The company also provides solvent recycling, waste-management and logistics services.
Founded in 1971, RSG has operations serving customers across the Southeast. Grace Matthews, which advised RSG's shareholders on the transaction, said the acquisition expands Shrieve's regional footprint while adding blending, recycling and logistics capabilities.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Shrieve is a portfolio company of Gemspring Capital Management. The transaction continues a period of acquisition activity for the specialty chemical distributor and adds a business serving industrial customers that use solvents for processing, cleaning, finishing and other manufacturing operations.
