FORT LEE, NJ - Sun Chemical Corp. has acquired a 50% stake in Assemblage Intermoleculaire en Chimie Organique (AIC), a special-effect pigments, additives and ink company based in Libourne, France. AIC manufactures high-performance additives that function as pigments in the security and specialty ink markets.
David Hill, Sun Chemical's chief Technology officer, said AIC is "poised to become the leading player in thermo-chromic and photo-chromic coatings systems." Martin Cellarier, director of Strategic Planning, Sun Chemical Europe Group, has been named to head the business.
Sun Chemical, based in Fort Lee, NJ, is the world's biggest ink manufacturer and is a major supplier of color pigments.
