Tikkurila Paints Oy began production at a new coatings plant in Ramenskoye, Russia.

VANTAA, Finland — Tikkurila Paints Oy, a unit of the Kemira Group of Finland, began production at a new coatings plant in Ramenskoye, Russia, southeast of Moscow. The facility is being operated by Tikkurila Paints’ Russian subsidiary, Kraski Tikkurila. The plant is the second coatings-manufacturing facility to be opened in Russia by Tikkurila Paints, which began production in 1995 at a facility in St. Petersburg. Visa Pekkarinen, Tikkurila Paints president, said the expansions reflect the company’s plan to serve the entire Russian market. The new plant, with an annual production capacity of several million liters, will manufacture water- and solventborne paint for interior and exterior use, as well as lacquers and stains for professional and do-it-yourself users. Tikkurila Paints also operates coatings-manufacturing facilities in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland and Italy.
