MONTVALE, NJ — Benjamin Moore & Co.’s board of directors has elected Yvan Dupuy, president and chief operating officer, to the additional position of CEO. Chairman Richard Roob, who formerly held the position of CEO, will remain chairman. The position of chief operating officer will remain vacant, the company said.

Dupuy, a native of Canada, joined Benjamin Moore in 1977 as a sales representative, and has held operations, sales and marketing-management positions with the company. He was named vice president of Sales and Marketing in 1988 and a senior vice president in 1995, before being appointed president in 1996. He has been a member of the board of directors since 1990.

Roob joined Benjamin Moore in 1976 as general counsel and secretary, and was named vice chairman in 1982 and chairman in 1984. He added the title of CEO in 1996.
