Duron has promoted David Whaley to director of Sales and Operations for the Philadelphia region.

BELTSVILLE, MD — Duron Inc. has promoted David Whaley to director of Sales and Operations for the Philadelphia region, and has named Charles Benedict director of Industrial Coatings. Whaley, a 16-year Duron veteran, is responsible for expanding the company’s market in the Philadelphia region, which includes 33 Duron Paints & Wallcoverings stores.

Whaley had been Sales and Operations manager for the company’s Nashville, TN, and Indianapolis regions since 1995. He was previously district sales manager for Atlanta and Atlanta district operations manager, and joined Duron in 1985 as a sales representative.

Benedict, who now directs the Industrial Coatings Team at Duron’s Beltsville headquarters, was formerly a technical field service representative with Ameron International Corp.’s Protective Coatings Group in Chicago. He previously held positions with American International and Main Pro Coatings, both in Buffalo, NY.

Duron is a major regional paint manufacturer with production facilities in Beltsville, MD, and Atlanta. The company operates nearly 300 retail stores in the eastern United States.
