Rohm and Haas Acquires Adhesives Business
PHILADELPHIA - Rohm and Haas Co. has acquired the flexible packaging adhesives business of Technical Coatings Co., a subsidiary of Benjamin Moore & Co. The business is a producer of cold seal adhesives marketed under the Coseal brand name, with primary applications in the food and medical industries.
Rohm and Haas said the acquired business will be integrated into its Packaging and Converting strategic business unit of the Adhesives and Sealants business.
Nick Gutwein, Vice President and Global Business director of Rohm and Haas's Adhesives and Sealants Business, said the "bolt-on acquisition gives us a position in the fast growing cold seal market." He said the addition gives Rohm and Haas a broad range of adhesives, coatings and resins for the flexible-packaging industry.
