HOUSTON – International Paint Protective Coatings, an AkzoNobel company, will merge its distribution center in Baton Rouge, LA, with the local AkzoNobel company-owned store in the same locale. It is the first U.S. location to offer a full selection of International Paint Protective Coatings, Devoe High Performance Coatings and Glidden architectural paint products under one roof.

Slated to begin joint operation in the first week of November 2009, the facility will serve high-performance protective coatings customers in the downstream oil and gas market segment, the water and wastewater market segments, as well as institutional, commercial and residential painting customers.

According to Louis Boncyk, General Manager, Southern Region Stores Business, “The distribution move represents the company’s first opportunity to leverage the broad distribution network afforded by the recent integration of the Devoe High Performance Coatings business with the International Paint Protective Coatings business earlier this year. The store not only offers our customers the convenience of a one-stop coating solution, but will help lower distribution costs and consolidate personnel needed in the field.”
