HOUSTON - Effective April 1, 2010, or as contracts permit, Solvay Chemicals Inc. will implement a temporary sulfur surcharge for its sulfite products. Sodium sulfite, all grades and all packages, will increase $0.030/lb. Sodium metabisulfite, all grades and all packages, will increase $0.040/lb. Sodium sulfite blended products, including catalyzed and catalyzed and decharacterized, will increase $0.040/lb.
