Bayer MaterialScience LLC’s family of Bayhydrol® one-component waterborne resins for Direct-to-Metal (DTM) applications offers the characteristics that formulators and applicators are looking for.

Bayer MaterialScience LLC’s portfolio of Bayhydrol® one-component waterborne products for DTM applications includes Bayhydrol B 130 polybutadiene resin, Bayhydrol B 2624 polybutadiene resin, Bayhydrol UH 245 urethane modified alkyd dispersion and Bayhydrol UH XP 2592 urethane modified alkyd dispersion.

In addition to being environmentally friendly, these low-VOC resins feature a number of other beneficial properties including low energy requirements (ambient cure or force dry), corrosion protection, early water resistance, ease of application (can be applied by spraying, dipping or flowcoating) and ease of field repair. Typical applications include large construction vehicles, mass transportation, such as trains, and manufacturing and industrial equipment.

“Direct-to-Metal adhesion is a coating characteristic required for many markets and end uses,” said Dr. Raymond Stewart, Senior R&D Scientist, Bayer MaterialScience LLC.

“As a leading supplier of raw materials to the coatings industry, Bayer MaterialScience LLC is able to meet the needs of formulators with a comprehensive product portfolio for DTM coatings backed by a wealth of technical expertise.”
