UZWIL, Switzerland – The Buhler Technology Group has acquired the U.S. company Draiswerke Inc., Mahwah, NJ. The acquisition strengthens Buhler’s position in the North American market.

Draiswerke Inc., which generated sales of about $5 million last year, will be integrated into the Buhler Grinding & Dispersion business unit, which offers comprehensive solutions for manufacturing electronic materials, printing inks and paints, fine chemicals, and products used in other industries. Integration will be completed by the end of 2011.

Gisbert Schall, the current President and CEO of Draiswerke Inc., will retain his function up to mid-2011, when a successor will be appointed. Schall will offer his services as a consultant to Buhler for another year, after which he will have reached retirement age.

Buhler is a global leader in the field of process engineering, especially production technologies for food production and the manufacture of engineering materials. Buhler operates in over 140 countries and has a global payroll of about 7,500.
