BYK-Chemie (Wesel, Germany) has started operations at two new application-technology labs in China at Shanghai and Guangzhou. The company says the location of the labs near its production site at Tongling will enhance the transfer of technology between laboratory and manufacturing plant, allowing increased customization of additive products in response to local requirements.

Sartomer Co. has opened Sartomer do Brazil, its first office in Latin America, in Sao Paolo. The new office will serve formulators and chemists throughout Latin America, providing technical and sales support for the company's entire line of specialty chemicals.

Coral Chemical Co. (Waukegan, IL), a supplier of industrial chemical products in North America, has entered into a technical cross-license agreement with Chemische Werke Kluthe GMBH (Heidelberg, Germany), a supplier of products and processes for surface treatment preparations, paints and varnishes, both in Germany and across most of Europe. The purpose of the agreement is the exchange of know-how, marketing cooperation and global partnership for the purpose of developing an integrated worldwide supply network.
