MUTTENZ, Switzerland – Specialty chemicals company Clariant has signed the declaration of membership of the UN Global Compact. In doing so, the company is emphasizing its commitment to sustainable development and good corporate citizenship based on the UN initiative’s 10 general principles in human rights, labor, environmental protection and anti-corruption.

For Clariant, participating in the UN Global Compact signifies a logical complement to and continuation of its sustainability activities and reporting. Membership also permits a dialogue with other stakeholders toward further developing their own sustainability performance.

“With our accession to the UN Global Compact, we are demonstrating, once again, that sustainability is more than a buzzword to us. We are already basing our corporate strategy on long-term, sustainable criteria in order to continuously enhance Clariant's economic and ecological value creation,” said CEO Hariolf Kottmann.
