BALTIMORE - Sustainability will take center stage at The Adhesive and Sealant Council’s Sustainability Forum 2014. The event will take place July 22-23, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, in Baltimore, MD. 

The event will feature a Value Creation Panel moderated by David Anderson, Senior Consultant, ICIS Chemical Business. This panel will feature a discussion on the commercialization of sustainability, including the challenges and considerations when deploying green chemistry. Formulators and raw material suppliers will provide perspectives on their approach. Panel participants include:  Jeff Uhrig, CEO, Sirrus; Stephen Willging, Global Technology Advisor, H.B. Fuller; Nellie Perry, Vice President, C5 Monomers and Polymers, Argus DeWitt; Stephen Willging, M.J. Maloof, Investment Director, Saudi Armaco Energy Ventures (SAEV); and Jim Charron, Vice President, Application Development, CAS NAFTA, Bayer MaterialScience LLC.

A Customer Panel, moderated by Steve Duren, Senior Director, Member Services, The Adhesive and Sealant Council, will feature:  Russell Perry, Vice President, Smith Group JJR; Paul Bertram, Director, Environment and Sustainability, Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc.; Ben Meaige, Senior Materials Research Engineer, Honda R&D Americas Inc.; and Arnold Barlow, Senior Manager, Sustainability Solutions, UPS, Customer Solutions.

A CTO Roundtable, moderated by Steve Lontchar, Vice President of Technology, DriTac Flooring Products LLC, will focus on the views on sustainability from a macro perspective, including how sustainability leads to value creation by solving global issues. It will also offer perspectives from CTOs. The roundtable will feature:  Hassan Rmaile, Chief Innovation and Technology Officer, H.B. Fuller; Michael Chronister, Vice Prsident of Technology, DAP Inc.; and Michael Harwell, Vice President Product Development, Henkel Corp.

A Research Panel moderated by David Constable, Director, ACS Green Chemistry Institute, will ask the question, “Where will sustainability be within the next 5-10 years?” It will present research that is being conducted today within the adhesive and sealant research community as well as other industries. The panel will feature Kaichang Li, Professor, Oregon State University; Wei Zhang, Director of the Center for Green Chemistry, University of Massachusetts Boston; and Chao-Jun Li, Professor, McGill University.
