Air System Supports Waterborne Coating Application and Painter Protection

Martech Services Company offers the Model 50-WB Waterborne Breathable Air Combo System, designed to provide both respiratory breathing air and clean, dry compressed air for spray-finishing operations.
The system is designed to address compressed-air requirements associated with waterborne coatings, where moisture and humidity can affect application. According to the company, the Model 50-WB filters moisture, oil vapors, gaseous hydrocarbons, dirt, rust, scale and other contaminants while lowering the dew point and relative humidity of air used for spraying.
"The Model 50-WB has all the features of a Quality Air Breathing System, Model 50 series system, plus the additional ability to lower the dew point and relative humidity for spraying waterborne paints," said Tom Wright, director of sales and marketing for Martech Services Company.
The system is designed to work with an existing compressed-air source. It filters and monitors compressed air for Grade D breathable air while also providing what the company describes as ultra-clean, ultra-dry air for spraying waterborne or solventborne coatings.
The Model 50-WB can process up to 50 SCFM of breathable air or 35 SCFM of clean, dry spray air, or a combination within those operating parameters. It can support up to two painters simultaneously. An 80-SCFM version is also available.
Compressed-air quality can affect both worker protection and coating application. Systems that control moisture and contaminants while lowering spray-air humidity can help finishing operations maintain application conditions when using waterborne coatings.
