Vertellus, a global manufacturer of fine and specialty chemicals, is introducing Polycin® XP EP3 to coating manufacturers at Booth 2556. This stable and robust castor oil-based emulsifiable polyol offers a wide level of formulating flexibility, enabling coatings formulators to reduce development time while maintaining or improving emulsion stability and coating performance.

The product permits users to easily adjust the formulation as needed for a wide range of applications simply by adding water and other additives. The versatility of Polycin XP EP3 makes it well suited across a wide range of concrete coating applications requiring various levels of performance via the addition of crosslinkers, plasticizers and additives. “Formulators regularly face the challenge of balancing emulsion stability and final coating performance. During testing and model formulation, Polycin XP EP3 was able to achieve both emulsion stability and coating performance in various commercial formulations,” said Kwyne Pugh, Senior Scientist, Vertellus.

Coatings containing Polycin XP EP3 showed greater stability at room temperature and under multicycle freeze/thaw when compared to other commercial polyol emulsions. Testing also concluded that Polycin XP EP3 improves the wet-out and impact resistance of the floor coating.

Polycin XP EP3 is the newest addition to a full line of polyols, castor oils, polymerized castor oils, and dehydrated castor oils offered by Vertellus.
