OTTAWA, Ontario — The Canadian Paint and Coatings Association (CPCA) announced that after a two-year hiatus, the 108th Annual Conference and AGM will be held at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Québec City, May 25-26, 2022.

The theme of this year’s conference is “SPARK — Coatings Change & Innovation.” In an industry where regulation is often the active precursor to many business decisions, paint and coatings organizations continue to drive innovation as agents of change for their customers. Research and innovation continue to push the envelope of coatings science, benefitting the product performance demanded by customers and for a more sustainable environment. The plenary session will delve into the state of the coatings industry today and explore technological advances and what they mean for business. Coatings professionals will also explore how various industry challenges, including regulations, have been catalysts for innovation and change. It will consider how the paint and coatings industry leans into regulatory shifts with better R&D for innovative product formulation.

“CPCA member companies are committed to sustainability, spending millions annually on improving product stewardship, product performance, and sustainability to meet evolving consumer demands,” said Gary LeRoux, CPCA’s President and CEO. Speakers will also focus on emerging changes expected in the coming years as the world combats climate change, places a renewed focus on worker and consumer health, and demands for more sustainable products and approaches.

In keeping with tradition, CPCA will recognize several individuals for their contributions to the Canadian coatings industry. These individuals will be recognized at the annual Chair Awards Dinner at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.
