IMCD has released Building Tomorrow, the second edition of its trends commentary for the coatings and construction industry. This report features primary data and updated trends insights from IMCD's first comprehensive global customer survey across 35 countries, and interviews with technical and commercial experts from IMCD Coatings & Construction.

The report covers four megatrends shaping the future of the coatings and construction industry: Green & Circular, A Healthy Future, Smart Functionality, and Time for Efficiency. The experts’ viewpoints offer a unique perspective on how each megatrend is evolving and how IMCD can offer solutions that directly respond to these trends.

According to IMCD’s customer survey, for the next two years Green & Circular will be the most impactful megatrend, while Time for Efficiency will be the most relevant. This trend also asserts the need to balance innovation, regulation, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality and performance. A Healthy Future highlights the importance of clean label and safe use products, while Smart Functionality emphasizes the growing demand for multi-functional products and spaces.
