Beckers Group announced that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved its near- and long-term net-zero greenhouse gas reduction targets, making Beckers one of the first companies in the coil coatings industry to receive this validation. The company also published its 2024 Sustainability Report, detailing progress on emissions reduction, product sustainability, and workplace inclusion.

The SBTi approval, issued in March 2025, confirms Beckers’ goal to reach net-zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2050. Interim targets include a 75% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 27.5% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, compared to a 2019 baseline.

“Building on the progress achieved in 2024, we are pleased that SBTi has approved our targets. This approval not only validates our direction but also reconfirms that our roadmap is grounded in science and aligned with the urgent need for climate action,” said Christophe Sabas, CEO of Beckers Group.

The 2024 Sustainability Report highlights key initiatives, including:

• Product sustainability: In 2024, 50% of Beckers’ sales were from products classified as “Achiever” on the Beckers Sustainability Index, up from 41% in 2023. The company aims to eliminate “Concern” class products by 2030.

• Workforce equity: Women now hold 30% of executive roles, up from 25% in 2023. Beckers also introduced a formal goal to ensure living wages across all operations.

• Operational impact: Renewable energy accounted for 66% of energy use in 2024. Scope 1 and 2 emissions have declined by 58% since 2013. The company also reported a 13% reduction in logistics-related emissions.
