California Sports Surfaces (CSS), a division of ICP Group, announced that its CoolTop® Cool Pigment Technology has been named the preferred surface of the Pickleball Australia Association (PAA). The partnership supports the growth of pickleball throughout Australia with sustainable, fit-for-purpose court solutions.

CoolTop is formulated to reduce surface temperatures through solar reflectance, helping athletes stay cooler during play while also extending court life by minimizing thermal degradation. The surface technology is designed to reduce heat island effects and lower long-term maintenance costs.

“New, dedicated pickleball courts are a necessity as more athletes take up the game,” said Caroline Field, vice president and general manager, Australia and Asia Pacific, ICP Group. “Together with PAA, we’re supporting growth with the right surface technologies.”

As part of the collaboration, CSS will assist local clubs and recreation facilities with access to accredited contractors and provide technical support for new and recoated courts. CSS will also feature a demonstration court at the 2024 National Sports Convention in Melbourne, showcasing CoolTop with live matches and interactive experiences.
