Curie Co announced it partnered with Microban International to deliver next-generation preservation systems for household, industrial and institutional cleaners as well as paints and coatings. The collaboration combines Curie Co’s organic acid preservation platforms with Microban’s Additive GS technology to enable water-soluble antimicrobial solutions in applications where organic acids have traditionally been ineffective.
“This partnership extends our mission to evolve consumer goods with innovative preservation ingredients,” said Erika Milczek, CEO of Curie Co. “Our flagship product AmpliPQ™ enabled sodium benzoate use in personal care products up to pH 8.5. With our latest technology we are extending that innovation into laundry, cleaning, paints and coatings, providing compliant and effective solutions as legacy preservatives face regulatory scrutiny. Microban’s global expertise and trusted brand make them an ideal partner.”
Mark Leo, vice president of sales and strategy at Microban International, said the company is proud to expand its technologies into HI&I preservation. “Consumers know their products are protected when they see the Microban trustmark. This partnership will broaden our reach into new preservation applications and help drive sustainability and compliance for leading companies,” he said.
As part of the effort, Curie Co introduced Evogard™, registered under EPA FIFRA and approved for use in dish soap, laundry detergents, household cleaners, paints and treated intermediates. The company is also offering custom preservation solutions tailored to HI&I applications for U.S. customers.
Curie Co, headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, develops biotechnologies and chemistries that strengthen, preserve and elevate consumer products. Microban International, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, provides antimicrobial, odor control and surface disinfection technologies for brands and manufacturers worldwide.
This partnership underscores the role of additives in advancing preservation technologies for coatings.
