Veteran Named Axalta Fellow

AxaltaAxalta elevated Dr. Delson Trindade to Axalta Fellow, the highest honor in the company’s Global Technology function, recognizing significant scientific accomplishments, technical leadership and commercial contributions.
“Delson is a passionate ambassador for technology who truly personifies our culture where growth and innovation meet performance and accountability,” said Dr. Robert Roop, senior vice president and chief technology officer at Axalta. “We strive to be an indispensable partner to our customers, and Delson’s technology and team leadership skills enable us to meet that goal consistently.”
Across a career approaching 40 years, Trindade contributed to multi-layer “3-Wet” coating processes used throughout the automotive industry, advanced silanated clearcoat platforms for durability and appearance, and helped develop a formulation toolbox for emerging electrification applications. His work spans Axalta businesses and includes more than 100 patent filings. Axalta also cited his mentorship and collaboration through the Fellows Forum, which supports technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
Trindade began his career with Axalta in Brazil and has held roles in Germany, Argentina and the United States, including Detroit and now Philadelphia at the Global Headquarters and Innovation Center. He holds a doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of São Paulo and an MBA in technology and innovation from Harvard University and the University of São Paulo.
