IMCD Celebrates 30 Years of Growth and Partnership
IMCD celebrated its 30th anniversary, highlighting growth from a 1995 foundation in the Benelux and France to a global distribution and formulation partner across specialty chemicals and ingredients. The company now has more than 5,200 employees in over 60 countries, supported by 110 offices, 80 laboratories and 150 warehouses.
IMCD cited milestones that shaped its expansion. In 2001 the business rebranded as IMCD and implemented a unified IT platform that supported international growth. Between 2005 and 2013 the company accelerated across EMEA, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, surpassing €1 billion in revenue by 2011 and establishing its Asia-Pacific footprint. In 2013–2014 IMCD entered Latin America and listed on Euronext Amsterdam, marking a new chapter.
From 2015 to 2019, IMCD strengthened North America with the acquisition of MF Cachat in the United States and expanded its global network of laboratories and technical centers to support formulation and application development with suppliers and customers. Between 2020 and 2024, the company enhanced its pharmaceutical platform in Asia-Pacific with the acquisition of Signet in India and deepened its sustainability commitments, joining Together for Sustainability and committing to the Science Based Targets initiative.
Leadership transitions included Valerie Diele-Braun in 2024 and Marcus Jordan in 2025 succeeding founder Piet van der Slikke as CEO. “Our success has always been rooted in people,” Jordan said, citing employees, suppliers and customers working together with an entrepreneurial mindset, creativity and trust.
