Omya Creates New Global Business Unit

Omya announced a new business unit focused on the sales and distribution of specialty materials. Omya Specialty Materials combines pigments, binders, additives and life science ingredients from leading manufacturers with the company’s mineral-based products. The unit is designed to provide technical solutions through a global sales network for suppliers and customers.
“The new business unit integrates our minerals and chemicals into one unified distribution portfolio which will streamline our supply chain for customers,” said Thoralf Gliese, chief commercial officer. “As a distribution partner for leading suppliers of chemicals and additives, Omya Specialty Materials has the advantages of broad technical expertise, long-term customer relationships and worldwide logistics.”
Omya Specialty Materials will operate alongside Omya Performance Polymer Distribution, created in early 2025 to focus on the global performance polymer market following the acquisition of Distrupol.
