Axalta Earns Six Innovation Awards Across Coatings Portfolio

Axalta Coating Systems announced that it has received six Business Intelligence Group (BIG) Innovation Awards recognizing product innovations across refinish, mobility coatings and industrial coatings. The awards recognize technologies focused on sustainability, productivity and safety.

Roop, Ph.D., senior vice president and chief technology officer at Axalta. “These six awards reflect the extraordinary work of our teams who continuously push the boundaries of what's possible in science to provide solutions that deliver value to our customers worldwide.”
In refinish coatings, Spies Hecker Permahyd® Hi-TEC 8260 Premium Waterborne Clearcoat was recognized for reducing solvent emissions by more than 65% while improving appearance and productivity in repair applications.
In mobility coatings, Axalta’s OEM low-bake integrated metal body and plastics coatings technology was recognized for enabling metal and plastic parts to be painted together at reduced cure temperatures, lowering energy use and emissions. Lumeera 3250 low bake clearcoat was also honored for curing at significantly lower temperatures than conventional automotive clearcoats, supporting reductions in energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.
Industrial coatings innovations recognized include Alesta® e-PRO FG Black, a flame- and heat-resistant coating designed to protect electric vehicle battery enclosures from thermal runaway. Axalta’s Total Cabinet Coating Solution was also honored for its combination of UV-cure roll coat enamels and solventborne edge coatings designed to reduce emissions and improve production efficiency. Voltatex® 1255 electrical steel coating for dot-bonding processes was recognized for supporting high-speed bonding in electric motor manufacturing.
Nominations for the BIG Innovation Awards were evaluated by a panel of business leaders and executives.
This recognition reflects ongoing innovation across Industrial Coatings and adjacent automotive coating technologies serving global manufacturing markets.
