DKSH announced that its near-term and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. The validation confirms that the company’s climate targets align with the latest climate science and support its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

DKSH’s near-term target includes reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 71.2% by 2030 compared to a 2020 baseline. The company has also committed to reducing Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services by 61.1% per CHF of value added by 2033 using 2024 as the base year. The long-term target aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050.

The company said it is pursuing these climate ambitions through measures such as optimizing transport routes and truck loads, increasing the use of electricity from renewable sources and expanding the share of electric and hybrid vehicles in its fleets. DKSH is also investing in carbon removal projects.

Butz, chief executive officer of DKSH. “This recognition strengthens DKSH’s climate ambition while creating long-term value for our operations, our partners and the communities we serve.”

DKSH reported that it has already achieved a 55% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO₂ emissions compared to its 2020 baseline. The company has also expanded its climate reporting, including Scope 3 disclosures, and has reported its carbon data to the Carbon Disclosure Project, where it has maintained a “B” rating since 2021.
