Intumescent Coating for Interior Structural Steel

PPG announced the launch of PPG STEELGUARD® 652, a water-based intumescent coating for interior general-purpose structural steelwork. Available in North America, the product s a cellulosic passive fire protection (PFP) coating that delivers up to two hours of fire protection. Its United Laboratories 263 certification supports performance verification and compliance with industry standards for architects, engineers and building owners. The low-VOC waterborne formulation supports efficient trade stacking and more sustainable construction practices, along with long-lasting protection for up to 20 years of performance. The coating can be applied on site using standard PFP airless spray equipment to achieve smooth, consistent coverage.
