Biobased Acrylic Coating Introduces Renewable Content for Corrosion Protection

Cortec® announced the release of its EcoLine® 3860, a water-based acrylic coating that incorporates renewably sourced resins. The product is an extension of Cortec’s line of VpCI®-386 anticorrosion coatings. to. The water-based acrylic contains 27% USDA-certified biobased content and is designed for industrial users who want to increase their use of renewable content in corrosion protection coatings. The formulation offers flexibility, adhesion and UV resistance while remaining within Green Seal and EPA guidelines for low-VOC coatings. Applied clear or matched to custom colors at a dry film thickness of 1.5–3.0 mils (38–76 µm), EcoLine® 3860 provides corrosion protection for metal parts, equipment and structures while introducing biobased resin content.
