Siegwerk said it strengthened its partnership with The Revere Group, citing improvements in color consistency, press efficiency and sustainability efforts in flexible food packaging after a switch to its low-migration SICURA Nutriflex ORBIS DC ink system.
The Revere Group, a family-owned packaging manufacturer based in Seattle, uses expanded color gamut printing to reproduce more than 90% of Pantone colors with seven inks rather than four, reducing the need for cleanups between print jobs, according to the companies. Siegwerk said it supported a transition to a matched seven-color ink set to maintain print continuity.
“The switch to Siegwerk’s low-migration inks has definitely paid off for us,” said Mark Revere, co-president at The Revere Group. “They run faster and more cleanly on our press, improve uptime and reduce waste – an important factor when it comes to our sustainability.” Siegwerk said the inks can be cured with UV and LED lamps.
Siegwerk also said the collaboration supported development work involving primers for compostable applications and recyclable mono-material structures to expand sustainable packaging options.
