BASF Corporation announced a price increase for neopentylglycol in the United States and Canada, effective March 12, 2026, or as existing contracts permit. The increase applies to all grades and packaging formats and is attributed primarily to rising raw material costs.
The announced adjustment includes increases of $0.07/lb and $155/mt. Neopentylglycol is commonly used as a building block in the production of polyester and alkyd resins used across a range of coating technologies, including powder coatings.
Within the coatings sector, neopentylglycol-based resins are valued for their chemical and thermal stability, particularly in applications where durability and performance under demanding conditions are required. Powder coatings represent a significant area of use, supporting construction-related applications and the coating of household appliances.
The company markets neopentylglycol under the NEOL® brand.
