Stonhard has published 20 product-specific Environmental Product Declarations for flooring, coating and construction systems available in North America.
The third-party-verified EPDs provide environmental impact information based on life-cycle assessment methodology. They are intended to help architects, designers, specifiers, contractors and building owners evaluate materials and prepare documentation for sustainability-focused projects.
Products covered by the declarations include:
- Flooring systems, including Stonblend HDF, Stonclad UR, Stonres RTZ and Stontrace LC5
- Coatings and sealers, including Stonkote CE4, Stonkote HT4, Stonkote ESD and three Stonseal products
- Waterproofing and sealant products
- Primers
- Grouts, aggregates and other construction products
“Publishing these EPDs reflects Stonhard’s commitment to continuously improving and measuring the environmental impact of our products,” said Chris Trageser, technical sustainability manager at Stonhard. “They provide a clear picture of product performance across the lifecycle and support informed decision-making for sustainability-focused projects.”
The declarations can support green building programs, procurement requirements, project submittals and companies’ internal sustainability goals.
The new EPDs complement Stonhard’s existing sustainability documentation, including Health Product Declarations and CDPH VOC Emissions Certificates for applicable products. The company said additional product-specific EPDs are planned as it expands environmental transparency across its portfolio.
