Diamond Vogel reported 2025 sales of $225 million-$250 million while reshaping its retail model and focusing on manufacturing operations.
Diamond Vogel provides coating solutions throughout North America to the architectural, industrial, farm and home, wood finishes, aerosol, traffic and toll manufacturing markets. Founded in 1926, the Orange City, Iowa, company celebrates 100 years of manufacturing in 2026. Diamond Vogel manufactures liquid and powder coatings sold under the Diamond Vogel, Old Masters, Van Sickle, Precision Color, Quest, Raabe and Z-Line brand names.
In recent years, Diamond Vogel has sharpened its focus on core manufacturing capabilities and industrial market segments. In February 2025, Gemini Industries acquired Diamond Vogel’s Industrial Wood Coatings Division. Later in the year, Diamond Vogel began divesting company-owned architectural paint retail locations while continuing to manufacture architectural paints for distribution through its acquisition partners. The company is also developing an industrial service-center model designed to provide local inventory, color matching and order fulfillment for manufacturers.

2025 Coatings Sales: $225-$250 million
With manufacturing facilities across the Midwest and aerosol and touch-up manufacturing operations in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Diamond Vogel continues to expand its capabilities in specialty coatings and toll manufacturing. Recent technology introductions include Peridium® T82 with EdgeSpan™ Technology for one-coat OEM edge protection and Diamond Fleet® 1K with Spectra IQ™ Technology, a one-component enamel topcoat developed for color retention, coverage and dry-time performance.
Notes: In February, Gemini Industries acquired Diamond Vogel’s Industrial Wood Coatings Division, including the Aquinity waterborne clear and opaque coatings line. Gemini retained Diamond Vogel’s dedicated industrial wood sales and technical service employees as part of the transition.
In March, Diamond Vogel formed Consumer Coating Solutions, a business unit bringing sales and support for Old Masters and Van Sickle under one organization led by Robert D. Reints.
In April, Van Sickle refreshed its retail program for independent farm, ranch and hardware retailers, adding updated packaging, point-of-purchase materials, product displays and QR-code access to technical information and application guidance.
Also in April, Diamond Vogel and Keep Iowa Beautiful awarded 87 Paint Iowa Beautiful grants for projects involving public spaces, historic buildings, libraries, schools, parks and community facilities.
In September, Diamond Vogel announced a strategic shift away from company-owned architectural paint retail, beginning with an agreement for Spectrum Paint to acquire its architectural paint business across 11 locations. The company said it would focus more fully on manufacturing and industrial service centers.
Later in 2025, Diamond Vogel announced a separate agreement with Hirshfield’s involving additional architectural paint retail locations.
