AkzoNobel Supports Nashville School Mural Project

AkzoNobel contributed 16 gallons of International protective coatings to a mural project at McGavock High School in Nashville, Tennessee. Designed by a school art teacher, the mural highlights academic programs and career pathways in health care, technology, aviation, public safety, the arts and skilled professions.
The company’s research and development team created custom tints connected to the school’s academies. Volunteers from AkzoNobel, Hoover Paint and the community were scheduled to paint the mural July 22 using a collaborative paint-by-number process.
The project is AkzoNobel’s fourth Let’s Color initiative in Nashville. The company said the protective coatings were selected to help protect and preserve the completed mural.
The project applies custom-tinted protective coatings to a public-school mural, linking color development with the need to protect a permanent community installation.
