Metallic Coatings Offer Foil-Stamping Alternative for Packaging

Stahl has launched its Senoprint metallic coatings portfolio globally, expanding a range previously sold in North America under the LustreCoat name.
The coatings are designed to create metallic effects directly during printing as an alternative to separate hot- or cold-foil application.
The portfolio includes silver and gold effects, with additional metallic colors created through overprinting. Applications include paper and board processed by sheetfed, screen, flexographic and narrow-web printing.
Every metallic coating is paired with a protective topcoat formulated as part of the system. UV and water-based versions are available.
Stahl says the coatings are designed for de-inking and recovery through standard paper-recycling streams.
